Return to Helical and Continuous Curved Handrail
A horizontal curved handrail refers to a handrail that follows a curved path horizontally rather than vertically. It is typically used in situations where there is a need for guidance or support while traversing a curved path, such as on a staircase or a walkway with a curved design.
Horizontal curved handrails are commonly found in various settings, including residential homes, commercial buildings, public spaces, and outdoor environments. They serve both functional and aesthetic purposes, providing stability and safety while also enhancing the overall design and visual appeal of the space.
Horizontal curved rails are used where there is no rise and fall, for example on a landing, where a horizontal curve is required rather than a straight section. Our CNC CAD routers and digital scanning equipment can be used to manufacture bespoke large curves to fit any architecture. Curved landings and mezzanine floors are often used in conjunction with helical staircases to achieve a complete project. Below are a few images of projects we have done that use this feature.
